It’s official: we’re in the studio making headway on a brand new full-length album.

2012 has been a busy year for us, full of great festival shows and concerts, but we’ve still found time to make it to the rehearsal room and pull together some new material. Some of the tracks set to be recorded have been part of our set over the summer, while others will be completely new to our fans.

We plan that the new CD – working title ‘Whip Jamboree’ – will contain 12 tracks of songs and tunes given the Blackbeard’s folk-rock treatment, with electric instrumentation and an up-beat party vibe.

While the album’s predecessor ‘Tomorrow We’ll Be Sober’ was recorded by the band in Tim’s bedroom, the follow-up will be recorded in a professional studio, and for the first time we are working with a producer – rock heart-throb Dave Boothroyd.

We are working towards a release date in April 2013, and the albums launch is to be accompanied by our first UK tour. More details to follow – watch this space!
